Baosteel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. was established on March 12,2012. It has three major production bases—Shanghai Headquarters,Baosteel Desheng Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. (abbreviated to Baosteel Desheng) and Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. (abbreviated to Ningbo Baoxin), and it has a complete set of united production lines of stainless steel and carbon steel ranging from iron making, steel making,hot rolling and cold rolling, etc. As one of the world’s top ten Stainless Steel Enterprises, Baosteel Stainless has an annual stainless steel output of 2.70 million tons and carbon steel output of 2.25 million tons. Its stainless steel productions occupied more than 20% of domestic market.

Baosteel Stainless Headquarters, with an area of 3.53 square kilometers, is located in Baoshan district of Shanghai. It could produce 1.50 million tons of stainless steel and 2.25 million tons of carbon steel throughout the year. Baosteel Desheng, with an area of 2.18 square kilometers, is situated in Jin’gang Industrial Park of Luoyuan Bay Development Zone of Fujian Province. It has a complete set of production and processing capability on mining, iron making, steel making, coking, hot rolled strip, solution heat treatment and pickling, etc., and it has an annual stainless steel output of 1.20 million tons. Ningbo Baoxin is located in Ningbo Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 650,000 square meters. It could produce 600,000 tons of cold rolled stainless thin plate and 10,000 tons of cold rolled stainless steel welded pipe throughout the year.

In 2013, the business performance of Baosteel Stainless was improved significantly, realizing an operating profit of RMB 1.3 billion throughout the year, which was beyond the budget objective made by Baosteel Group at the beginning of the year by RMB 86 million. Baosteel Stainless Headquarters realized an operating profit of RMB 1.67 billion, produced 2.56 million tons of irons, 3.12 million tons of steel, 3.46 million tons of hot rolling and sold 1.72 million tons of stainless steel products and 1.80 million tons of carbon steel products. In the same year, Baosteel Desheng sold 1.10 million tons of commodity semi-finished product materials; Ningbo Baoxin sold 660,000 tons of cold rolled stainless steel and earned a profit of RMB 168 million.
