1/: 2011 Metallurgical Product Quality Award “Gold Cup Prize” was announced and three hot rolled stainless steel products of Baosteel, namely 304, 316L and 430, received the top quality award in the industry - “Superb Quality Award”.

2/14: The Development and Application of Two-piece Tinplate for Pop-top Cans project jointly executed by Baosteel Co., Ltd. and Baosteel Metal received the Second Prize of 2011 National Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress.

2/: In the 2011 Project Implementation with Customer Satisfaction Award by China Association for Quality, Baosteel Chemical’s Special Improved Pure Benzene product won the title of Products with Nationwide Customer Satisfaction again.

3/1: Baosteel ranked 25th among the 2012 World’s Most Admired Companies by Fortune magazine, up by 7 positions from the 32nd position in 2011, and named again as the most admired company in the metal industry.

3/1: Baosteel Group Corporation was awarded the title of Meritorious Entity Among State-owned Enterprises in Stability Preservation on the State-owned Enterprises Stability Preservation and Letter Petition Work Conference held by the SASAC of State Council.

4/: The Research and Development of Advanced High-strength Thin-strip Steel Product-Process-Equipment Integrated Technology project of Baosteel Co., Ltd. won the First Prize of Shanghai Municipal Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress.

4/: Baosteel was awarded the title of Global Supplier of the Year by General Motors again and the only iron and steel enterprise which was awarded the title of 2011 Global Supplier of the Year by General Motors

4/: Baosteel ranked the 329th among 2012 Forbes Global 2000 with annual sales revenue of USD 30.7 billion, profit of USD 2 billion and assets of USD 32.6 billion.

4/22: Baosteel ranked among the 2012 China Top 100 Green Companies, a multi-industry assessment of the sustainable competitiveness of enterprises.

5/: Shanghai Baosteel Magnetic Co., Ltd. of Baosteel Development Co., Ltd. was listed among the first group of Industrial Recycling Economy Major Demonstration Projects announced by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and became the first in China's iron and steel industry as well as among Shanghai industrial enterprises to be awarded this honor.

5/: Baosteel Trade Union was awarded the title of Meritorious Entity in Shanghai Employee Quality Project and the Baosteel Employee Innovation Activity Base of the Baosteel Talent Development Institute was awarded the title of the Top Ten Brands in Shanghai Employee Quality Project.

5/: Baosteel won 3 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze awards on the 111th Paris International Invention Exhibition. The three gold award winners were the Integrated Technology of Emulsion Emission and Consumption Reduction invented by Wang Kangjian from Baosteel Co., Ltd. cold rolling plant, Complete Equipment Technology of High Conversion Rate Energy-Conserving and Environmental-Friendly Hot Rolling Laminar Cooling invented by Wang Jun from Baosteel Co., Ltd. hot rolling plant and Molten Steel Vacuum Refine and Top-Blow Multi-Purpose Lance invented by Wu Jianhua from Baosteel Engineering.

5/: In the Second Shanghai Outstanding Employee Sports Program jointly conducted by Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions and Shanghai Sports Bureau, the Health Express - Baosteel Group Employee Healthcare Plan was named one of the Top Ten Shanghai Outstanding Employee Sports Program Brands.

6/: In the 2012 China Software R&D Productivity Ranking by Industry, Baosight Software claimed the only 2012 Excellent IT Service Provider in China’s Software Industry grand award.

6/: In the sixth Worthy Trust awards, Huabao Trust was awarded the Worthy Trust Corporate Excellence Award. This was the sixth consecutive year Huabao Trust had received this award.

7/9: The 2012 Fortune Global 500 was released. Baosteel entered the top 200 for the first time and ranked the 197th with the operating revenue of USD 48.9163 billion and a net profit of USD 1.8667 billion, up by 15 positions from the 212th position in 2011. This was also Baosteel’s highest ranking in Fortune Global 500 in consecutive nine years.

7/: Baosteel Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. was awarded the title of Honorable Enterprise and Entity with Outstanding Contribution at the Sixtieth Anniversary of China’s Industrial Production of Stainless Steel.

9/3: The Top 500 Chinese Enterprises sponsored by China Enterprise Confederation and China Enterprise Directors Association was released. Baosteel ranked the 21st among top 500 Chinese enterprises and the 6th among top 500 manufacturing enterprises.

9/11: On the 2012 China Iron & Steel Industry Science and Technology Conference held in Beijing, the Development and Industrialization of Low Temperature High Magnetic Induction Oriented Silicon Steel Manufacturing Technology project was awarded the only Grand Prize for China Metallurgical Science and Technology and four other projects, including the Research and Application of New Methods for Evaluating the Thermal Properties of Highly Reactive Coke, were awarded the First Prize.

9/26: The Fortune (China) magazine released the 2012 Most Admired Chinese Enterprises, among which Baosteel ranked the 10th and was the only iron and steel enterprise.

9/: Baosteel Group was named the Shanghai Double Support Model Entity. It was the 9th consecutive year Baosteel received this title since 2004.

10/: On the 13th World Knowledge Forum, Baosteel Co., Ltd. was named Asia’s Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise and became the first Chinese manufacturing enterprise to receive this award.

10/: On the First Shanghai Citizen Sports Meeting, the Baosteel sports team took home 10 champions, 6 first runner-ups and 14 second runner-ups and was also honored with the top award in the organization category - the gold cup of Citizen Well-being Award.

10/: The World Steel Association held the Third Steelies Award Presentation Ceremony and the Excellent LCA Cases and Direct Production Technology of Mineral Wool from Hot Molten Blast Furnace Slag projects submitted by Baosteel received the Excellence in Life Cycle Assessment Award and the Excellence in Sustainability Reporting Award respectively.

11/16: In the 2012 Chinese Corporate University Rankings, the Talent Development Institute was named the 2012 China’s Best Corporate University with the highest overall score.

11/: Baosteel University for the Elderly was named the Meritorious Entity in the National Elderly University Campus Culture Development.

12/2: The second Shanghai Charity Partnership Day was officially launched and Baosteel, as a representative of outstanding project partners of first Shanghai Charity Partnership Day, received the Charity Partnership Memorial Award.

12/: On the Summarization and Commendation Conference for the National Share Our Ideals and Compare Our Contributions Campaign, Baosteel was named Meritorious Collective in the National “Share Our Ideals and Compare Our Contributions” Campaign again after being awarded this title in 2008 and 2010.

12/: The 2012 National Demonstration Enterprises for Technological Innovation results were announced and Baosteel Group Corporation was awarded the title of the National Demonstration Enterprises for Technological Innovation.

12/: On the Ninth China Knowledge Management Summit and the 2012 China MAKE Award Presentation Ceremony, Baosteel Co., Ltd. was named China’s Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise again.

12/: Totally 31 affiliated entities of Baosteel passed the class-I review of the work safety standardization of metallurgical enterprises by the State Administration of Work Safety. Baosteel had previously been named one of the 22 National Demonstration Enterprises for Promoting Work Safety Standardization by the State Administration of Work Safety.

12/: The Technology and Equipment for Flexible Manufacturing of Advanced High-strength Thin-strip Steel developed in-house by Baosteel received the Second Prize of National Awards for Technological Inventions. The Safe and Efficient Development Technology and Industrialization Application for Super-large Ultra-deep High-sulfur Gas Field jointly submitted by Baosteel and PetroChina received the Grand Prize of National Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress.

3/4: Baosteel Group Corporation was granted the Outstanding Contribution Award for Central Enterprises Participating in 2010 World Expo and was recognized by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council.

3/16: Baosteel Co., Ltd. was selected as one of the Top 100 Chinese Corporate Social Responsibility Performers, which was released for the first time by Fortune (China), and ranked 5th among the top 50 local enterprises and 1st among the 12 selected local companies in the raw material industry.

3/18: Baosteel Group Corporation was listed among the “2010 Most Admired Companies of the World” by the American Fortune magazine and ranked 7th in the global metal industry.

4/28: Baosteel Group Corporation won the 2nd China Industrial Award, which is the highest and most influential award in the industry at home.

5/6: five projects of Baosteel received Shanghai Science and Technology Awards. Among them, three projects won the second prizes, including the development of high-performance enamel steel sheet, the advance of sintering flue gas desulfurization technology and the development of high sulphur resistant oil casing products; two projects won the third prizes, i.e. the research on surface quality control of 1800 cold rolled sheet, and the development and application of seawater corrosion resistant steel and supporting weldingmaterials.

6/22: Baosteel won the award of “2010 Golden Bee - Leading Enterprise”, the highest prize on the honor roll of the Golden Bee Corporate Social Responsibility - China List.

6/27: Baosteel Group Corporation was granted the Shanghai Municipal Special Award for Professional Ethics by Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions.

7/6: Baosteel ranked 18th on the 2011 List of 500 Brands with Most Values in China published by the World Brand Lab, with an increase of RMB11.563 billion in brand value.

7/7: Baosteel moved up to 212th on the Fortune Global 500 listfrom 276th in 2010.

7/22: Baosteel Group Corporation won the “2010 China Charity Award – Most Caring Domestic Enterprise”. This is the third time that Baosteel was granted with the China Charity Award.

8/22: Baosteel swept 98 awards with its inventions at the 20th National Invention Exhibition and was granted the Excellent Display Award by the Organizing Committee of the Exhibition.

9/14: Baosteel Group Corporation won the honour of “2010 Leading Central Enterprise of Financial Management".

9/15: three projects of Baosteel were granted the 2010 China Quality Technical Awards by China Association for Quality, of which the “research on key technology of e-procurement and supply chain collaboration under game-based bidding model” got the first prize; the other two projects on “the control technology of large-scale hot dip galvanizing unit strip” and “outer plate quality improvement of cold-rolled high-quality home appliances" both won the third prizes.

9/: Baosteel Co., Ltd. won the title of 2009-2010 Annual National Quality Work Advanced Unit, the highest honour in the field of quality management in China.

10/8: Baosteel Group Corporation was granted the honour of 2011 Advanced Unit for Statistics in Steel Industry and was cited by China Iron and Steel Association.

11/1: two achievements of Baosteel received the first prizes in the selection of 2011 Metallurgical Enterprise Management Modernization Innovation Achievements, i.e. the “Innovation and Practice of Management Auditing Mode for Large Transnational Companies" by Auditing Department of Baosteel Group Corporation and "Monitoring of Trade Friction Risk under Global Horizon and the Construction and Implementation of Response System" by Marketing Management Department of Baosteel Ltd.

11/22: the 2010 CSR Report of Baosteel was awarded with Excellent Innovation Award of Global Model Report in the selection of the UN Global Compact - Model Report Award of China Corporate Social Responsibility.

11/: three world-renowned rating agencies gave Baosteel the highest credit rating in the industry. S & P’s and Moody’s rated Baosteel at “A” and “A3” respectively, both with outlook “stable”; Fitch Ratings affirmed “A-”, with supply chain performance outlook “stable”, enabling Baosteel to become one of the companies with the highest ratings in the global steel industry. 1

11/: 8 projects of Baosteel won gold and silver prizes in the 63rd German Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition, accounting for half of the awards won by Chinese exhibitors.

1/11: In the 2009 National Science and Technology Award Conference, Baosteel won the "Enterprise Innovation Award" set by the state for the first time and its Project of Developing 3Cr Series Oil Casing for Anti-CO2/H2S-Erosion Use and Multi-functional Online Testing Technology for High-speed Cold-rolled Strip Steel won the second prize of National Award for Technological Invention and the second prize of National Award for Scientific and Technological Progress respectively.

3/15: Baosteel Group Corporation was listed among "2009 World's Most Admired Companies" by American Fortune Magazine and ranked at the 6th position in the global metal industry.

4/1: In the 2009 Shanghai scientific and technological awarding ceremony, Baosteel's Construction of R&D Base of Refined Iron and Steel Products Closely Integrating Research and Production won the first prize of Award for Scientific and Technological Progress; Developing Steel Wire Pod and Zinc-coated Wire for Bridge Cable Use, Development and Application of Water-saving and Stair-utilizing Technology in Iron and Steel Enterprise System and Technology of Controlling Carrier on the Surface of Cold-rolled Steel Slab won the second prize; Shallow Slot Turbulence Silicon Steel Scouring Technology won the third prize.

4/12: At the 2009 China Charity Award Appraisal organized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, Baosteel won the "2009 China Charity Award - Most Caring Domestic Enterprise". This is the second time that Baosteel was granted with the China Charity Award.

4/14: At the 2009 China Quality Technology Awarding, Baosteel's Improving Comprehensive Compliance Rate of Blast Furnace Pretreatment Melted Iron, Enhancing Efficiency of Double Garage and Multi-system at Unload Wharf in Majishan Harbor, Reducing Alloy Content in Cold-rolled Products and Increasing Hot-setting Accuracy of Thick Plates won the title of "National Excellent Six Sigma Project". Its Reducing Ratio of Stainless-steel and Low-speed Slabs, Enhancing Activity of Quick Lime in No. 2 Kiln and Extending Effective Life Expectancy of Self-made Gauges won the title of "Shanghai Excellent Six Sigma Project".

4/28: By the end of March, plants directly under Baosteel Co., Ltd hit the record of emission reduction of SO2 for 15 consecutive months by over 1,600 tons. Thereby, Baosteel Co., Ltd. won the Award for Excess Emission Reduction granted by Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Environmental Protection.

6/2: At the first energy-saving China Contribution Award Appraisal, Baosteel Co., Ltd. won the "Award for Ten Enterprises with Outstanding Contributions in Energy-saving", becoming the sole enterprise winning such an honor among domestic iron and steel enterprises.

7/1: In the 2010 (the 7th) List of 500 Brands with Most Values in China published by the World Brand Lab, Baosteel ranked 18th with the brand value of RMB 47.591 billion. It also ranked top among brands in Shanghai.

7/8: Baosteel ranked 276th in the 2010 Fortune Global 500 with the business income of RMB 195.3 billion (US$ 28.591 billion) in 2009. It's the 7th straight year for Baosteel to be involved in the list.

7/30: In the 2007-2009 performance evaluation and awarding of central enterprises by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission under the State Council, Baosteel won the honor of "Enterprises with Excellent Performances",becoming the sole enterprise winning such an honor in the domestic metallurgical industry.

9: Baosteel was included in the top three in the field of industry in "Top 100 Innovative Enterprises in China". Baosight Software ranked at the top three in the field of services.

9/14: Baosteel won 19 golden awards at the 19th National Invention Exhibition.

9/14: Baosteel Group Corporation won the golden prize of the 4th "Harvard Business Review Management Behavior Award".

9/30: Baosteel was included in the 2010 list of "Top 500 Asian Brands" jointly compiled and published by the World Brand Lab and the World Executive Group. It ranked 81st.

12/3: Baosteel was selected as the "2010 Model with Best Value Management" at the 2010 (the 10th) China Annual Management Conference & "Model with Best Value Management" Conference sponsored by Talents magazine in collaboration with Sina,Beijing Youth Daily and other media.

12/7: Baosteel's 2009 Corporate Social Responsibility Report won the award of "2010 Golden Bee Best CSR Report - Leading Enterprise".

12/8: Baosteel was included in the "China Brands of the Year" at the awarding of "2010 - CCTV China Brands of the Year".

12/16: In the Coca Cola (China) 2010 Summit of Sustainable Development Suppliers, Baosteel Metal won the platinum supplier award.This is the supreme prize set by Coca Cola Company for suppliers for the first time and Baosteel Metal becomes the sole supplier winning such an honor. Baosteel Metal was granted with the Best Customer Services Award at the same time.

12/20: Baosteel won the China Best Corporate Citizen Award at the 2010 China Best Corporate Citizen Forum & the 7th China Best Corporate Citizen Awarding.

1/9: Baosteel's Comprehensive Technology for Utilization and Emission Reduction of By-Product Gases of Steel Enterprises won the second prize of 2008 National Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress at the national scientific and technological awarding ceremony. It was the first project winning such an honor in domestic metallurgical industry.

1/15: The Expo Bureau granted Baosteel the Expo 2010 Shanghai China Service Star Award.

3/23: Baosteel Group Corporation was listed among "World's Most Admired Companies" by American Fortune Magazine.

7/8: Baosteel ranked 220th in the latest Fortune Global 500 with the gross business income of USD 35.5 billion and gross profit of USD 2.314 billion in 2008, up 39 positions compared to the last year. It's the sixth successive year for Baosteel to be included in the list.

8/25: Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. and Baosteel Group Xinjiang Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. were among Top 100 China's State-owned Listed Companies with Social Responsibility in 2008 at the first Annual Conference of Chinese Enterprises' Social Responsibility.

8/25: Nine new technologies innovated by Baosteel won China Metallurgical Science and Technology Awards in 2009, including three first prizes for The Development and Application of Two-piece Tinplate for Pop-top Cans, Process Equipment Technology of Annealing and Coating Set of Non-oriented Electrical Steel, and Technical Study and Application of Baosteel's Baosteel Process Control respectively, second prize for Zn-galvanized Steel Sheet Control and Full Hard Steel Production Technology, and third prizes for five innovations including Meishan Steel Company's Highly-efficient Combined-blowing Integration in Converter.
