The engineering technology service sector of Baosteel Group is represented by the newly established subsidiary Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter as "Baosteel Engineering") as the flagship. In Baosteel's new round development, the strategic objective of Baosteel's engineering technology service sector is to become the internationalized engineering technology service provider for large-scaled industrial and urban construction projects; by means of consolidating the internal and external resources in the field of engineering technology, the "5+3+1" business portfolio structure with engineering technology, IT, equipment manufacturing, steel structure, and iron & steel technology service as the traditional pillar industries, energy and environmental protection, steel structure housing and new business of rolls as the emerging development industries and the overseas business as the shared synergetic business platform; it undertakes the task of Baosteel's independent integration and innovation, masters the key engineering technologies, and possesses the capability of integral engineering integration, provides the industrialized output platform of iron & steel process equipment technologies, and coordinates the reduction of project investment and the efficiency improvement of the equipment operation and maintenance system of main steel business.

Due to the internal business adjustment of Baosteel Group in 2010, in addition to the former Baosteel Engineering Technology Corporation and its subsidiaries, Baosteel Engineering Technology Group also includes Baosight Software, Baosteel Maintenance, Baosteel Inspection, Baohua Tendering, Baosteel Construction, Baochan Light Housing, Architectural Design & Research Institute, Baochan Sanhe Doors and Jinyi Detection.

Established on August 5, 1999 and renamed in December 2009, it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Baosteel Group Corporation with a registered capital of RMB 920 million.

Baosteel Engineering sets up the professional business units for smelting, steel rolling, architectural project, environmental protection & utility, electrical and automation, possesses over 10 subsidiaries including Changzhou Baoling Heavy & Industrial Machinery Co., Ltd. and Baosteel SMMP Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd., and has the capability to organize and manage the construction of large-scaled engineering projects. After resources consolidation, Baosteel Engineering has formed the core business of engineering technology consultation, information service, equipment manufacture, iron & steel technology service, steel structure, energy efficiency technology service and holds over 20 Class A qualifications and the management right of overseas project contracting issued by the state.

In 2010, Baosteel Engineering consolidated the steel structure business of Baosteel Group, optimized the internal resources, enhanced technological capability and accomplished the annual operating targets in an all-round way. It realized a sales revenue of RMB 12.94 billion and a profit of RMB 690 million.

As a listed software enterprise controlled by Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., it was established in April 2000 and listed in April 2001. Baosight is based in Zhangjiang High-tech Park, Pudong New District, Shanghai with a registered capital of RMB 262 million.

Relying on the experience and technologies accumulated in the service for Baosteel, Baosight provides the customers with IT solutions for steel industry with proprietary intellectual property rights, automation system integration, operation and maintenance service; comprehensive solutions for urban intelligent transport and comprehensive monitoring of roads, bridges, tunnels and rail transit; complete sets of mechanical and electrical equipment, mechatronic products and their operation and maintenance, etc. Its products and services cover many industries including metallurgy, transport, equipment manufacture (including ship building, excavation, finance, coal chemical, public service, etc.)

In 2010, Baosight realized RMB 2.581 billion in operating revenue and RMB 252 million in net profit.

Baosteel Maintenance possesses over 10 professional qualifications, its main business includes equipment and spare parts manufacture, equipment maintenance and project, equipment management service, lifting and transportation service and manufacture of special transportation vehicles, etc.

It realized an operating revenue of RMB 1.49 billion and a profit of RMB 24.56 million in 2010.

Established in July 1994 with a registered capital of RMB 24.77 million, it was originally called as "Shanghai Baosteel Equipment Inspection Company" and renamed on July 1, 2004.

Inspection Co. is a new type professional enterprise providing guarantee technical service for steel production by means of multiple technologies, multiple specialties and multiple measures such as vibration detection and analysis, physical and chemical inspection and analysis, infrared thermal image analysis, wear analysis, stress and strain detection and analysis, nondestructive testing and analysis, electrical testing and analysis, water, gas and dust testing and analysis, noise analysis, multi-dimensional spatial precision positioning, industrial energy saving optimization, etc., to ensure the smooth equipment operation and production.

It realized an operating revenue of RMB 850 million and a profit of RMB 9.3 million in 2010.

Established on December 21, 2005 with a registered capital of RMB 10 million, its predecessor is the tendering office of Shanghai Baosteel International Economic & Trading Co., Ltd.

Baohua Tendering possesses the tendering qualifications of high gold content such as Class A international tendering of electromechanical products, Class A engineering tendering, Class A governmental procurement, etc., and can undertake the tendering of various goods including domestic and international mechanical and electrical equipment, materials and spare parts, raw material and auxiliary material, etc., engineering tendering (design, surveying, construction and supervision) and service tendering.

In 2010 Baohua Tendering realized a sales revenue of RMB 49.59 million, a profit of RMB 12.65 million, completed 740 tendering projects and a successful bidding sum of RMB 8.327 billion.
