Recently, the 2010 Science and Technology Project list of the Ministry of Science and Technology of P.R.C. came out. The two patented products, "Urban Public Security Image Monitoring and Information Service System" and "Motor Vehicle Drivers Check and Control Device at Crossings for Public Security" independently developed by Baosight's Baokang Electronic under Baosteel Engineering and Technology Group, were respectively included in the National Torch Plan and the National Key New Product Plan. In addition, the "Integrated Quality Monitoring Platform Software V2.0" independently by Baosight Software and the "LW-Type Oversized Square and Rectangular Pipes of High Strength and Weatherability" independently developed by Baosteel Metal's Baosteel Construction Engineering Design & Research Institute were also included in the list of national key new products.

It is learnt that this time the National Torch Plan totally identified 1799 projects, and Shanghai accounted for 38 of them; the National Key New Products identified 1530 projects in all, and Shanghai has 86 of them. These projects all possess their proprietary IPR. They boast favorable market prospects, large industrial scale, stronger market competitiveness and broader market coverage.
