    Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (Baosteel Co., Ltd.), a subsidiary of Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation, was set up on February 3, 2000 and listed at Shanghai Security Exchange on December 12, 2000. Baosteel Group Shanghai No.1 Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.

    Baosteel Group Shanghai No.1 Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (No. 1 Steel Corporation) has developed and produced products, such as ribbed reinforcing steel bars of high strength series, NSI sulfuric acid dew point corrosion-resisting steel, 10PcuRe atmosphere corrosion-resisting steel and SM490A welding-structure steel, which have been widely used in major projects including nuclear power stations, power plants, subways, elevated highways, bridges, airports, maglev and Changjiang Three-Gorge Project. Among these products, "Kelang Brand" ship plates and "Shangyi Brand" ribbed steel bars have been awarded State Golden Prize and the title of "Shanghai Famous Brand Product".

    At present, the premium stainless steel product base of No.1 Steel with a total investment of 11.78 billion Yuan, which adopted current world advanced technical process equipment, is producing according to international advanced standards and operating technology.

    The designed production capacity of the stainless steel premium product base of No.1 Steel is: 2.656 million t/a of liquid steel (among which 750000 t/a are liquid stainless steel and 1.906 million t/a liquid carbon steel), 2.569 million t/a of con-cast slabs (among which 720000 t/a are stainless steel slabs and 1.849 million t/a carbon steel slabs) and 2.399 million t/a of hot rolled plates and coils (among which 587000 t/a are stainless steel plates and coils and 1.812 million t/a carbon steel plates and coils). Its products are mostly carbon steel with premium carbon steel, atmosphere corrosion-resisting steel, low micro alloy high strength steel, welding-structure steel and X pipeline steel as the main products and stainless steel with austenite as main product. It can also produce stainless steel of martensite, super-martensite, double-phase steel and ferrite. While producing premium stainless steel products, the company has reached the standard of garden plant and realized the clean production target.

Baosteel Group Shanghai Pudong Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.

    Baosteel Group Shanghai Pudong Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. (Pudong Steel Corporation) mainly produces plates of three categories, i.e. stainless steel, low alloy steel and normal carbon steel. Its products include ship plates, vessel boiler plates, girder plates, high rising building structure steel, petrochemical corrosion-resisting steel plates, vessel plates of nuclear electric power projects, stainless steel plates, various plate armor, naval vessel shell plates, etc. These products have been widely used in areas of bridge, high rising building, ship-building, war industry and chemical industry, including state pillar industries and major projects, such as Three-Gorge Project, Qingshan Nuclear Power Station, offshore platforms, Changjiang Xiling Bridge, Shanghai Lupu Bridge and Shanghai Maglev Project. Baosteel Group Shanghai No.5 Steel Co., Ltd.

    Baosteel Group Shanghai No.5 Steel Co., Ltd. (No.5 Steel Corporation) is a premium special steel product base specializing in developing, producing and selling special steel products. It is equipped with production lines including long stainless steel product production lines. Special steel and special alloy materials, such as auto steel, bearing steel, spring steel, cold-forging steel, jointing steel, free-cutting steel, stainless steel, tool die steel, high temperature alloy steel and titanium alloy, which are produced with world advanced technical equipment and process flows, have been widely used in areas including space flight, aviation, ocean engineering, ships, nuclear electric power, railway, automobiles, machines, electronic instruments and petrochemical industry. Part of the products have been exported to international markets of Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle East, the US, Australia and Europe.

    No.5 Steel Corporation is the only bearing steel supplier certified by SKF unconditionally in domestic special steel industry, and also the domestic bearing steel supplier specified by joint ventures, exclusively invested firms and foreign businessmen. Its auto steel is mainly supplied as key raw material for auto fitting suppliers of major auto manufacturers, such as Shanghai Volkswagen, German Volkswagen and General Motor, and has been approved by Shanghai Volkswagen, German Volkswagen, GKN, ZF, Rockwell of the US. Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co., Ltd.

    Baosteel Group Shanghai Meishan Co., Ltd. (Meishan Corporation), a modern steel complex integrating mining, ore dressing, sintering, coking, iron and steel making and steel rolling with completely auxiliary equipment, has a comprehensive steel production capacity of 3 million tons.

    Meishan Corporation has been vigorously implementing premium steel product strategy. It has made the equipment of hot finishing rolling, coiling and No.2 con-caster reach international advanced level by revamping the hot rolling mill and building No.2 con-caster. Products of 12 series, such as gas bottle steel, pipeline steel, auto steel, container steel, rolling stock steel and oil casing steel, which are developed and produced by it, have not only been sold well in the domestic market, but also exported to countries and regions including South Korea, the US, Japan, Italy and Taiwan, providing guarantee for the maximization of economic benefit.

Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd.

    Ningbo Baoxin Stainless Steel Co., Ltd. (Baoxin Co.) is a joint venture set up in March 1996 for producing cold rolled stainless steel sheets with 54 of the investment made by Shanghai Baosteel Group Corporation, 12 made by Zheyong Iron & Steel Investment (Ningbo) Co., Ltd., 21.9, 7 and 5.1 made by Nissin Steel Co., Ltd., Mitsui & Co. Ltd. and Hanwa Co., Ltd. respectively. The investment made for Phase 1 to 4 Projects totaled 7.35 billion Yuan. It has an annual designed production capacity of 600,000 tons. It has passed certification of ISO9001:2000 quality control system, ISO14001:1996 environmental management system and OSHMS professional safety and health management system.

    Baoxin Corporation has been using world advanced process equipment for organizing production with main equipment all supplied by world famous firms. It has realized computer management for the whole process starting from contract ordering to quality designing, production designing and planning, finished product delivery and financial settlement by developing the computer integrated management system (CIPS) by itself. Its products are mainly used in areas, such as cooking utensils, sanitary equipment, medical apparatus and instruments, domestic electric appliances, food processing equipment, chemical equipment, auto fittings, electronic components and building decoration.
